I love a surprise gift bag!

The journey to minimalizing and living simply has been a very challenging but rewarding process.  We have a long way to go but I feel like I can breath better without the clutter.  We are looking forward to living fulltime in our GMC Motorhome Eleganza 2 when we retire and it’s 260 or so square feet.  So when I see something I would like to have it has to be well thought out – is it quality, does it have a purpose, will I need to get rid of something to make room for the new item, does it make my happy?

This isn’t the smoothest segue, but…  When I was a wee li’l one and my grandma came to visit we would go to the Pike Place Market.  I remember two things specifically – the Seafair Pirates scaring the bejeezus out of me and getting to pick a grab bag with a mystery gift inside.  I don’t remember at all what was in the simple butcher paper wrapping tied closed with string, but the excitement of picking through the packages marked ‘girl’ (it was a long time ago, I imagine I could have picked a ‘boy’ package, it just never occurred to me).  I remember shaking them and squeezing them  before finally picking which one I wanted.

Now 50 some years later, here comes a company called Nomadik.   I am not affiliated with them but I can’t help but have the same anticipation of what is going to be in the box.  I laughed out loud today when I opened the Water Proof Tesla Lighter by Frog & Co- this is the only Tesla I imagine I will ever own!  The multipurpose pocket survival kit is perfect for living in a small space with it’s can opener, knife edge and other features.  Gotta say the micro Orienteering Compass (orienteering is a tongue twister!) is great and I hope we will be able to try it out next week.  All these items are we can USE and bring JOY and are unique enough I don’t have to choose between something I already have and the new one.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’m already looking forward to next months delivery, just 20 minutes after opening this one!
