The purchase of tires is serious business plus we have to get SEVEN! You don’t want ‘china bombs’ , you have to be aware of the load range and the date of their production. As important as wear, the age on an RV tire is crucial. The first two digits are the week of manufacture, and the last two digits are the year. For example, if the last four digits of the DOT code are 0203, that means that the tire was manufactured during the second week of the year 2003. See….learning something knew every day!
We did not want to take the RV in to a shop to install the tires on the wheels which gave us a bit more flexibility in shopping. We DID want to find a national chain type store so replacements or repairs would be easier when dealing with the tire warranty. We decided on Costco. Our 8:00 a.m. Saturday appointment went without a hitch and our tires were installed on the wheels and ready for pickup by 9:20.
And yes, they will all have the GMC hubcap installed!
Hey, which wheels did you end up buying from Costco? I’m on the hunt.
