Oh, that’s right…..  the passenger side living room window is loose as a goose!  We ordered new felts from Applied GMC Motorhome Parts * and they arrived a few weeks ago.  The weather is finally nice enough that we could put them in without getting rained on.  I was sure they sent the wrong thing when I opened the box – oh my gosh, time sure wore the original felt out!  Although we had heard this could be a nightmare of a job, it  wasn’t difficult at all.  We pulled the old felt out and then cleaned the rails, first with a toothbrush and soapy water then moved on to a rotary brush and really got it spotless.  The new rubber went it pretty easily once we got the window moved from one side of the pane to the other.   The felt that goes on the center vertical frame fit well also, we carefully used a mallet and the tapping block we used to install the flooring to remove and then put it back in place.  The window is in snug now and we made the correct gaps for the drainage holes aka window weep holes.  We will do the three other windows also, though they are not in as desperate need as this window had been.

  1. inspired by our post, I went to a glass shop on the weekend and for $10.00 got more then enough whiskers to do all my windows. Took a couple hours of work and the results are amazing, no more rattles!
    Best $10. I’ve ever spent!
I only wish I had done it before I did my trip, I could have turned the stereo down.😂
    Keep up the good work!
